TAITherm is a cross-platform thermal and infrared signature modeling tool for Windows, Linux, and Unix computers that can be used to model the steady state and transient distribution of heat over complex surface descriptions of component systems. TAITherm models 3-D conduction, convection, and multibounce radiation. The output TAITherm is the temperature map of the component system which can be viewed using the integrated post-processor. ViewTherm is a cross-platform post-processing tool for viewing the results of TAITherm simulations. ViewTherm provides the same post-processing power as the thermal simulation codes, including plotting and exporting. Users that are familiar with TAITherm will already have the software skills needed to operate ViewTherm
Whats New : – Advanced Muffler Component
New, advanced muffler component types increase accuracy and setup speed for underhood/underbody simulations. It predicts skin temperature based on understanding the internal information. This allows you to get more accurate temperatures of the muffler skins early in the design cycle.
– Root-cause identification tool
This new feature is a highlight of post-processing automation. It automatically identifies sources of energy that cause vehicle components to exceed design temperatures and allows you to select over-temperature elements to form a heat shield. This process reduces thermal analysis cycle time, allowing you to optimize designs by trying more alternatives while saving time and money. – Improved post-processing for Exhaust Streams
Post-processing features were added for easier identification, plotting and probing of Exhaust Stream results. You can now add Exhaust Stream nodes to plots, export data sets and view results on an elemental level. Additionally, Advection and Mass Flow Rate data can be plotted and exported. These improvements offer access to the computed results for use in technical reports and a better understanding of the exhaust system behavior.
– Reduced model opening time
File opening speed has been increased by up to 40% for large TDF files.
– Thermal Link enhancements
The Thermal Links dialog now warns you when duplicate thermal Links are applied to the same element or part, and can have one or more filters used for easier viewing of large lists of Thermal Links. To increase accuracy it also includes the option to create generic Thermal Links that are time dependent. To reduce model setup time, the Show Neighboring Parts tool can now be used to display which parts are connected by thermal links.
– Distributed parallel processing for Human Thermal Module
Simulating human comfort is the focus of a significant number of thermal analysis Applications. The Human Thermal Module, and models containing Fiala Convection and Evaporation can now be run in distributed parallel mode, reducing overall simulation time and resource use. This provides results sooner and permits a larger number of design iterations.
– Enhancements for automotive battery charging cycles
To increase battery modeling accuracy, you can now model resistance and capacity of individual battery cells to estimate the lifetime of the battery. You can also modify the NTG model to use resistance as an input, and specify voltage instead of current for the NREL equivalent circuit model.
– View Feature Edges
The Display Feature Edges provides highlighting for part edges and sharp geometric changes without displaying the entire geometry mesh.
